Top Tips for visiting a Firework Display and Bonfire Night Event
- Pre-book your tickets early because most places will sell out quickly. Keep an eye on the website or social media pages for when tickets are released and book in advance.
- Ear defenders may be useful for young children to enjoy the fireworks.
- Wear appropriate clothing and footwear as these are evening events, taking place outside, after dark in winter.
- Arrive in plenty of time. Give yourself time to park the car and walk to the event. Some venues have room for disabled parking only. Go local if you can and leave the car at home.
- Check what time the gate opens – usually about an hour before fireworks start.
- It is a good idea to bring a torch with you because the event takes place when it’s dark, so it’s useful to have extra lighting. Some children bring glow sticks!
- Check with the venue how accessible the site is before you book.
- Check with the venue whether they allow you to bring your own sparklers. Many venues don’t.
- Bring money and allow extra time for a hot drink and food, most venues will be selling hot food, drink and sweets.
